Andrew Glassett

Andrew Glassett (aka Nolens Volens) is a percussionist, musician, DJ, audio recording engineer, and writer. The native of Jerome, Idaho is member of the American indie rock band Uzi and Ari[1][2] and TaughtMe.

He currently performs experimental electonica under the moniker Nolens Volens. Nolens Volens is an experimental fusion of sound collage, electronica, and acoustic instrumentation. Nolens Volens has been the product of Glassett's exploration into music and audio sampling, electronic percussion, and audio engineering.

Glassett began his music career as the drummer for Upinatem, a Jerome Idaho based punk rock band formed by Glassett and cousins John Bartholomew and Sean Capps. Glassett Appeared with UPINATEM on the Albums "Cool People Suck" (1994) and Designer Fascist Show (1998), both of which were released independently in limited production.

In late 2001, Glassett was recruited by NoFACED (formed in early 1999), a four piece emotionally charged Punk Rock outfit formed in Twin Falls, Idaho. Glassett was brought in to replace drummer Brandon Roseberg. Rosenberg left the band citing personal differences. NoFACED also featured Brant McCombs (Vocals/Guitar), Gregory Downey (Guitar/Vocals - Ockhams Razor, Thee Unashamed www.myspace.com/theeunashamed ) and, Rob Smith (Vocals/Bass).

In 2002 Glassett left NoFaced and relocated to Provo, Utah to attend Brigham Young University. While at BYU he was recruited to play drums for REV 313 Recording artists Books About UFOs. Books About UFOs is a garage rock outfit featuring Clint Dilley (Vocals and Guitar), Jason Warner (Guitars and Vocals), and Josh Stewert (bass and vocals). Glassett appeared on the 2003 Books About UFOs 'Ghetto Blaster' EP. Glassett left Books About UFOs in 2004 and was replaced by Ben Gerhards.

Glassett currently plays drums for the Salty Lakeside Town based Uzi and Ari featuring singer, guitarist, and songwriter Ben Shepard, Catherine Worsham (bass), Garrett Martin (guitar, keyboard), and Ryan Moore (violin, guitar, French horn). Glassett appears on "It is Freezing Out" and "Head Worms".

Glassett has also played for San Francisco based Taughtme, joining them on their 2008 European tour.
